About
Everyone who runs the day on board sees the same live picture, at the same time.
Fifteen years as a superyacht officer. Most recently First Officer on a 147-metre motor yacht: 100 crew, three support vessels and a large tender fleet. Every guest day ran through hundreds of messages in several chat groups.
The information was always there. It was just never in one place. Finding out what’s going on meant scrolling, reading between the lines and knowing the vessel well enough to fill the gaps. Then doing it all again three minutes later, while keeping the watch. An experienced officer manages. A new one needs a season to learn it.
So he set out to fix it, together with experienced software developers. The bridge experience comes from the sea; the engineering comes from people who build software for a living. The result reads the reports in the ops chat and turns them into a live picture of the day. Every officer on watch starts from the same picture, whether it’s their first trip or their tenth season.
Today Siim leads BridgeOpsX alongside an MSc in Maritime Digital Solutions at TalTech, Tallinn University of Technology.
Nothing new to learn. The crew keeps reporting in the ops chat, the way it always has.
BridgeOpsX shows the picture. The master and officers make every call.
It runs on the vessel’s own computer. The live picture and the record stay on the yacht.
Every department works differently. We can shape what each team sees, from the bridge to the engine room, the interior and the tender crew. And we believe the same approach can help other vessels with busy daily operations, such as expedition cruise ships. If that sounds like your operation, let’s talk.
